Applying to U of T is a two-step process. First, submit your application through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). Then you'll complete your next steps in the Join U of T or Engineering Applicant Portal. Learn more about how to apply.
Applications typically open in late September. You should apply as early as possible in the fall of your final year of high school. Some programs have limited space or supplemental applications, and applying early gives you more time to complete next steps, like submitting documents or supplementary applications. Review all application deadlines.
Not for most programs. Most program areas typically don't require essays, reference letters or personal statements as part of the application. However, some programs do ask for a supplemental application to get to know you beyond your grades. If one is required, you'll find the details in Join U of T or the Engineering Applicant Portal after you apply.
