Transfer Credits for High School Students

Earning transfer credit

If you have been admitted and have taken any Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, GCE, or CAPE subjects during high school, you may be eligible for transfer credit. Transfer credits are assessed after admission and once we have received the official final results directly from the examining board.

Different faculties and campuses at the university may have varying transfer credit policies and criteria. This means that the amount and type of transfer credits awarded can differ depending on the faculty, campus or specific program you are admitted to. It's important to review the transfer credit guidelines for your chosen faculty or campus to understand how your previous coursework will be evaluated and applied towards your degree.

Note that the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering does not provide transfer credit for Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, GCE, or CAPE subjects.

Transfer credit by academic system

Find transfer credit options based on your academic background, including AP, IB, GCE, and other international curricula. Our faculties have specific criteria for each system for credit recognition, so review the details carefully to understand how your coursework may apply to your degree.

Dual enrolment

Students who are concurrently pursuing post-secondary courses while in high school may be eligible to receive up to 3.0 transfer credits, including any transfer credits granted for specific secondary school curricula, provided they reported the dual enrolment institutions on their admission application.

Knowing what to expect in the transfer credit process ensures a smooth transition as you begin your studies.
