First-year residence guarantee
Housing is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of a postsecondary program for the first time, provided that they have completed the StarRez Portal application by March 31, and accepted an offer of admission by June 3.

What are the different types of residences?
Apartment Style
Apartment-style residences offer a more independent living experience with private, or semi-private bedrooms, shared common areas, and sometimes kitchens.
Dormitory Style
Dormitory-style residences provide a traditional campus living experience with shared bedrooms and communal facilities. These residences foster a strong sense of community.
Townhouse Style
Townhouse-style residences, available only at the Mississauga and Scarborough campuses, offer a cozy, community-oriented living experience. Units typically feature multiple bedrooms and shared living spaces.
What about the residences at the Faculty of Arts & Science colleges?
The colleges in the Faculty of Arts & Science have residences that provide a unique living experience closely tied to each college's academic and social life. Not all residents of these residences are Arts & Science students; U of T students from other faculties can also live there. Also, some students from a particular college may choose to live at other options like Chestnut or CampusOne instead. It's important to know that all residences offer a supportive community, various amenities, and opportunities for academic and personal growth.

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, CampusOne is a newly built student residence affiliated with the University of Toronto. Enjoy spacious urban living and state-of-the-art amenities in a safe and secure environment.
Home to over 1100 students from all University of Toronto faculties and colleges, Chestnut Residence offers spacious rooms, high quality meals, and a vibrant residence life program.
Located right across the street from Innis College, these apartment-style building features private bedrooms with four or five students sharing a kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms.
Loretto College is an all-women’s student residence building within St. Michael’s College campus, located on the “upper east side” of the St. Michael’s College campus in the heart of downtown Toronto.
St. Mike’s offers a traditional dormitory experience, which means students reside in either single or double rooms, and share washrooms and other common areas with their housemates or floormates.
Trinity College’s two traditional-style buildings, Trinity College Residence and St. Hilda’s College Residence, house approximately 470 first-year and upper-year students. These co-ed residences feature a mix of single, double, and triple rooms.
Located in the middle of U of T’s St George campus, University College residences offer all-gender dormitory-style living in historic and modern halls.
Vic is a vibrant community of 3,500 students, representing over 50 countries. There are five residence buildings, which house both first-year and upper-year students.
