Expand your world
U of T is one of the most internationally connected universities in the world. You'll join a diverse community of students, faculty and researchers from more than 160 countries, but your global experience doesn't have to stop on campus. You can take your learning abroad through a wide range of international opportunities.
Study abroad opportunities

Spend a semester, summer or full year at one of 150+ partner universities around the world. Earn U of T credit and pay regular U of T tuition while immersing yourself in a new culture and academic setting.

Summer Abroad programs combine classroom learning with immersive experiences, turning your host city into a living textbook as you explore its culture, history and politics with a small group of peers—all while earning a U of T credit in just 3-4 weeks.

International Course Modules give you the chance to take part in an intensive international experience as part of a U of T course. Travel is built into the course and usually takes place during Reading Week.
Global programs
Our global programs help you deepen your understanding of global issues and give you the tools to make a positive impact. Many of these opportunities will let you broaden your perspective without ever leaving our campuses.

Develop inclusive, real-world leadership skills through curated online courses, in-person connections and global opportunities both locally and abroad.

Deepen your understanding of global citizenship through co-curricular learning and receive a certificate of completion and Co-Curricular Record recognition.

Broaden your global perspective and connect your learning to international contexts through collaborative, tech-enabled courses.

Build global skills through curated courses across a range of disciplines and receive a Global Scholar notation on your transcript to recognize your global perspective.
Learn by doing
Experiential learning goes far beyond co-op placements and studying abroad. It's about connecting what you're learning in class to meaningful experiences that challenge you to think differently, solve problems and grow your skills.
Sample experiential opportunities

Connect with grassroots, non-profit or public organizations and apply your academic knowledge in meaningful ways. Support a local initiative, contribute to a research project or collaborate on a community-based solution, while building skills, earning credit or gaining recognition on your Co-Curricular Record.

Whether you're developing an app or launching a social enterprise, you can tap into one of North America's top research-based entrepreneurship networks. Access mentorship, funding, workspace and hands-on support from 12+ campus accelerators as you move your idea forward.

Field experiences are hands-on learning opportunities that let you apply what you've studied in a real-world or professional setting, typically as part of a course. For example, in Field Archaeology (NMC261), students spend six weeks on an active dig. These experiences are designed to build skills and typically count toward your degree.
Co-curricular record

The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is an official document that recognizes your involvement outside the classroom. You can use the CCR to track what you've done, connect your experiences to the skills employers and grad schools are looking for and to showcase your achievements.
Students can access the CCR through Folio, our platform for finding and recording co-curricular opportunities. It's available to all undergraduate and graduate students across our three campuses.
