Student Profile Rabia

Building Skills in the Life Sciences

Niche Courses

Rabia has enjoyed that the Faculty of Arts and Science offers focused courses specific to her program, even as an underclassman. One such course is “TRN225: Biomedical Health,” which is part of the Trinity One Stream. This course was taught by the Dean of Arts and Science, who was also the Head of the Immunology Department, so she enjoyed getting to learn from an expert in the field. The class was discussion-based and students were able to create their own research paper, providing a lot of room for exploration. Not only did she learn practical theory that will help her in her future studies, but students were also taught how to research and apply for research grants, skills that she will take with her in her future studies.

Extracurricular Involvement

Outside of the classroom, you can find Rabia giving campus tours to prospective students, fulfilling her Events Manager duties for the Baking Club or working her Corporate Relations role for UofT’s The Citizens Foundation chapter (U of T TCF). She finds these experiences to be a great source of community and a great opportunity to build time management and communication skills.

Relaxation Outside the Classroom

As an avid foodie, she loves exploring new restaurants in the city (and giving recommendations on social media)! She also enjoys hanging out with friends and catching a movie in her free time.
