Unique classes
One of Pranav’s favourite classes thus far has been “POL106: Intersections of Digital Policy & Privacy Rights,” which he enjoyed because it focused on the niche topic of digital media in politics. He was able to explore how authoritarian governments use technology to go after their political dissidents, ultimately writing a research paper about this topic that had always interested him.
Experience through clubs
Wanting to build his debate skills with the eventual goal of going to Law School, Pranav joined the UofTMUN (Model UN) club, the Moot Court Team and 180 Degrees Consulting – U of T chapter. In the latter, a student-run consultancy for nonprofits and social enterprises, Pranav gets paired with a social impact client in Toronto and helps them get through managerial problems. He likes the interpersonal and project-focused nature of this job.
On-campus presence
Pranav has found community—and employment—through his on-campus involvement. As a Campus Tour Guide, he shows prospective students and their families around the St. George campus and answers questions pertaining to student life at the university. He finds this experience to be rewarding because he’s able to give students the positive experience he had on his campus tour, a true full-circle moment.
There truly is a wealth of resources on campus. Reach out and take advantage of it.
