Foundations in Forensic Science
So far, one of Sierra’s favourite courses has been “FSC239: Intro to Forensic Science,” because it gave her a good foundation for Forensic Science. She says the class cemented her passion for the subject and gave her a preview into careers in the Forensics field, which she’s eager to pursue.
Building Skills Outside the Classroom
Currently, Sierra works in the Office of Student Recruitment and Admissions as a student ambassador. She likes that this position has strengthened her communication skills and allowed her to be a more confident public speaker and leader.
Finding Her Footing as an International Student
Moving to Toronto from Trinidad for university, Sierra was able to ease the transition by joining community-based clubs, such as the Caribbean Connections club and the Forensic Society. She also took advantage of resources like the International Education Centre (IEC), which helped her with financial questions she had and hosted workshops for other international students to meet each other.

“Join clubs and get involved!”
