What You Should Know About Applying to U of T

We encourage you to apply well in advance of the posted deadlines. Spaces fill quickly and programs may close before the application deadlines listed. See Important Application Dates.

Approximately one week after we receive your application we will send you an email acknowledgement that includes your JOINid/UTORid, your University of Toronto applicant number, and full information about the next steps in the application process.

Eligibility for Admission

Your eligibility for admission will be considered once your complete academic record and any additional information requested by the division to which you have applied have been received. You must submit full documentation for all secondary and post-secondary studies you have attempted. Be sure to submit all required documents in advance of the published supporting document deadlines.

Admissions and Awards or Scholarships

In considering students for admission and scholarships, the University reserves the right to give preference to students whose grades represent their first attempt.

Communicating With You

When we correspond with you it may be by email or by physical mail. Please ensure that your application information includes an active email address and current mailing address.

University policies on access to student records and personal privacy allow us to communicate only with the applicant unless we have the written permission of the applicant to discuss the application with a third party.

Note About Agents

The University of Toronto does not interact with agencies (educational “agents”) in order to recruit students to undergraduate programs. Find out more about how to protect yourself from fraud.

Living in Residence

If you are interested in residence, you must complete a separate application. Go to StarRez to apply and learn about the residence guarantee.
