City of Toronto Queen Elizabeth II Sesquicentennial Scholarship in Community Health Nursing

The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement, particularly in courses related to community health nursing.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate Scholarship:

  • open to students completing the third year of the four year BScN program, until this program ceases to exist, and to students completing the first year of the second-entry two year BScN program.
  • Preference may be given to students who are proficient in a language besides English and whose interest is to work with multicultural families.
  • be Canadian citizen/permanent resident and resident of Ontario
  • demonstrate academic achievement and
  • demonstrate financial need

Graduate Scholarship:

  • open to students enrolled in the Graduate Department of Nursing Science who have completed courses in community health and demonstrate a commitment to this aspect of nursing.
  • be Canadian citizen/permanent resident and resident of Ontario
  • demonstrate academic achievement and
  • demonstrate financial need

Value/Amount: One undergraduate scholarship of $5,000 and one graduate scholarship valued at the balance of the annual income.

How to Apply:

  • New for Fall 2023 / Winter 2024: All in-course awards will be awarded in the Winter term. The application will close on Thursday February 1, 2024 at 5 p.m.  Only one application is required. You may apply for multiple awards on one U of T Student Award Application Form. Please be sure to check the award criteria before selecting the award. Applications will open on Tuesday September 5, 2023.

Notification of decision:

  • Award recipients will receive an award letter by email from the University Registrar’s Office, usually one month after the application deadline.
  • The award letter will include information on the award payment and should be kept for future reference.
