Alumni Voice
I see my time at university as the defining moment of my life. It was a period of self-discovery and filled with several opportunities. I got the opportunity to work on the MINGA project, where we planned for a year to visit a school in Guatemala and helped to make them sustainable; I led the fundraising division for this initiative. The leadership opportunities I had at U of T, such as captaining the Table Tennis team, starting the Cricket Club, and working as a Residence Don and a Peer Academic Leader made me realize that at some point in my life I had to start something of my own—and, more importantly, gave me the confidence to believe that I can.
After a few years of work in chemical manufacturing, I realized that my calling was in food and more importantly manufacturing. I started my company, Aussee Oats Milling Pvt. Ltd., and currently serve as the Managing Director, supplying to major brands like Nestlé and Kellogg’s, among others. My courses in Negotiations and Small Business Management helped equip me with the skill set to succeed.
A leader in the Mumbai business community, Raghav Gupta graduated from the University of Toronto with a Specialist in Finance and Major in Economics (Hon. B.Com., 2008).

Applying
We welcome applications from well-qualified students from across India. Admission to the University of Toronto is competitive. You will be considered on your academic history; some programs require supplementary applications, auditions or profiles. We strongly encourage prospective applicants to apply early and submit all necessary documents as early as possible. If English isn’t your first language, you may be required to submit proof of English facility.
Study Permits
If you are not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, you will need valid documents to live and study in Canada. You can apply for a study permit once you’ve received an offer of admission from the university. We recommend beginning the immigration process as early as possible because it can sometimes take a few months to complete. The Canadian Government and our Centre for International Experience is available to help international students navigate the immigration process and answer any questions.
