Blackwood Gallery

The Blackwood Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that presents a variety of curated exhibitions and educational activities featuring the work of local, national and international professional artists. The Blackwood’s exhibitions and programs are FREE and open to the public.

Erindale Studio Theatre

As the home base for Theatre Erindale, the production company of the Theatre and Drama Studies program, Erindale Studio Theatre offers a full season of performances featuring UTM’s own students in acting and supporting roles. Tickets are available for purchase online or in-person at the box office.

MiST Theatre

The MiST Theatre is a fun space that hosts a wide variety of events open to you. The space is fully equipped, seats 130 people, and is available to students, departments and outside users.

Check out a student theatre production at U of T St. George’s Hart House Theatre, the George Ignatieff Theatre at Trinity College, or the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse. Attend a film screening at the Innis Town Hall cinema and lecture space or the Isabel Bader Theatre. Take in artwork at the expansive U of T Art Museum.

You could sign up for a film or singing workshop through Hart House’s Creative Classes – taught by professionals, and open to everyone.

Check out a student theatre production at U of T Scarborough’s Leigha Lee Browne Theatre. Take in artwork at the Doris McCarthy Gallery or Gallery 1265.

You could get involved with a number of arts, culture and media associations, such as ARTSIDEOUT, a one-day multi-disciplinary arts festival that celebrates arts and culture at UTSC.

FAQ

As a current U of T student, how can I apply for scholarships?

University of Toronto students have access to over 4,000 in-course scholarships every year. These scholarships are awarded to current students who are excelling in their programs. For example, through the University of Toronto Scholars Program, students completing their first, second or third year of study can receive scholarships of $1,500 each – the University offers 100 of these per level every year. Top students will automatically be considered for most of these awards, but some do require applications.

Where can I get help planning my budget and find out about financial options?

Financial counselling is available through your faculty, college or the Office of University Admissions and Outreach. Counsellors can help you navigate the array of government and University of Toronto programs, scholarships and bursaries available to you. They can also help with budget planning and debt management.
