Description of Award: 

Inspired by retired General Rick Hillier and Honorary Lt. Colonel Kevin Reed, Project Hero is a program through which colleges and universities offer scholarships and bursaries for dependent children of Canadian Forces personnel killed while serving in an active military mission. The scholarship program provides a $4000 scholarship, renewable for 3 years of study. The eligibility for this scholarship is to be confirmed through the Children of Deceased Veterans – Education Assistance Act verification process. Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) administers this process and will provide the written confirmation for children of deceased veterans.

  • under the age of twenty-six
